That's okey. I just assumed you were occupied with something important.	괜찮아. 뭔가 중요한 일이 있었겠거니 했어.
Not exactly. I was on the train coming back from my business trip.	그렇진 않아. 출장에서 돌아오는 기차 안에 있었어.
Oh, I guess you had a problem accessing the Internet on the train.	아하, 기차에서 인터넷이 문제였을 것 같네.
No, the Internet was fine and the train had wifi.	아니, 인터넷은 괜찮았고 와이파이도 있었어.
Then, were you too busy and lost track of time?	그럼, 너무 바빠서 시간 가는 줄 몰랐어?
No. When I took out my phone to join, the person next to me hit my hand with his bag.	아니. 내가 참석하려고 핸드폰을 꺼냈는데, 내 옆 사람이 가방으로 내 손을 쳤어.
Oh, no! Did you drop your phone?	저런. 핸드폰 떨어트렸어?
Yes. The screen totally cracked, and my phone wasn't working anymore.	응. 스크린이 완전이 박살났고, 핸드폰이 전혀 동작을 안했어.
I'm so sorry to hear that.	참 유감이네.
So, there was no way I could join the conference.	그래서 내가 컨퍼런스에 참석할 방법이 전혀 없었어.

  • I just assuemed ~ 라는 표현을 기억하자.
  • I just assuemed you were not interested in this research.
• I was on the train coming back from my business trip. (난 출장에서 돌아오는 기차 안 이었어.)
  • 현재분사 coming을 써서 효율적으로 말하고 있다.
  • I saw the researcher presenting about his experiments.
  • I was in the conference held in Seoul.
• I guess you had a problem accessing the Internet on the train. (기차에서 인터넷 연결 문제였을 것 같네.)
  
  • 마찬가지로 현재분사 accessing을 써서 효율적으로 말하고 있다.
  • 나였다면, I guess you had a problem where you couldn't access the Internet on the train. 정도로 비효율 적으로 말했을 것
  • I think this process will have a problem reproducing results.
